Coronato Hosts Collaborative Dinner with Food Expert Katie Parla

Food and beverage educator and journalist, Katie Parla, will be teaming up with chef Teddy Diggs of Coronato Pizza on Oct. 15 for a special meal straight out of her latest cookbook, “Food of the Italian South.”

 In Parla’s book, she captures a total of 85 recipes as well as 100 photos, showcasing the cooking traditions of the Italian South – from the mountains to the coast. Be ready for some delicious dishes when these two team up. Check out the menu below.

 Antipasti (for the table)

  • Manell’ (fried polenta fritters)

  • Frittata ai Fiori (Frittata with flowers)

  • Polpette Casce e ovo (bread Meatballs)

  • Insalata di Rinforozo (Cauliflower, olive, pepper, and caper salad)

Pizza (choose 1)

  • La Marinara Rivisitata di Attilio Bachetti (marinara with garlic pecorino Parmigiano, and basil)

  • Pizza all’Alto Casertano (Lard, onions, black pepper, fig jam, Pecorino)

  • Pizza con N’duja e Fior di Latte * Feat. Mutti (tomato, fresh milk mozzarella, ‘nduja, basil)

  • A Pizza co’lErva (vegetable Calzone)

Dolci (for the table)

  • U’Piscquett’l (lemon zest and cherry jam cookies)

  • Mipigne (potato cookies)

  • Giurgiulena (Calabrian Sesame-Nut Brittle)


Communal seating is available for the dinner, and there will be two arrival times: 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are $70 per person and can be purchased here.

Each ticket includes food, drink and a signed copy of Parla’s latest cookbook.
